So many magazines, such little time!
Aside from Boulevard Magazine, I write for several other publications. Here is a list of some of them.
West Shore Life + Style is a great community magazine and one of my newest to write for. Lots of great information on what’s happening in the West Shore Communities outside of Victoria proper. Even my dogs got into one of their editions! (page 45 – Maggie and Jackson)
SOAR is Pacific Coastal Airlines in flight magazine. I love writing for them because I get to visit some great communities that they fly to, and then write stories about them. It doesn’t get much better than that!
InFlight is Central Mountain Air’s in flight magazine. I get to write about lots of great things like food, arts, culture and other fun things for people to do in cities that CMA services.
Pearl Magazine is for the find folks in Saanich and Sidney. I’ve met some wonderful artists, business people and had some very interesting conversations out there. It’s magazines like this that keep communities connected.
Tweed Magazine is Oak Bays Magazine. While I don’t write often for them, I do enjoy meeting the wonderful people of Oak Bay and writing their stories.
The Connector is Wilson’s on the bus magazine. I wrote for them for a couple years and still may in the future. My favourite was writing my food column and getting to eat delicious food in funky places in Victoria and Vancouver. I also went on some pretty amazing walks through China town, a ghost walk and a more!
YLW Connection Magazine was once owned and operated by Accelerate Communications. I loved writing for them as I literally go to tell people where to go! Seriously though, I got to write about some of my favourite places on earth, from Winnipeg (yes I love it – deal with it) to the Okanagan to Seattle and beyond. I also get to educate people on important things like how to pick out the right luggage and how to survive a trans-Atlantic flight!
Okanagan Life Magazine is all about where I lived for over 20 years. I was thrilled to write for them. My main focus was on the Good Neighbour and the In Person features, which highlight the talented and generous people I am lucky to call neighbours. Publisher Paul Byrne and then Editor Laurie Carter (one of the best writers around) were a pleasure to work with. Plus, their readers voted me one of the top three writers in the Valley, twice!
SunCruiser Media has several magazines where I was privileged to contribute my talent as a writer and researcher. I’ve written about everything from where to catch the best fish, to how to pack for travel across the border, to organizing an RV and where to dock your boat! Plus about 127 other topics. Seriously, this is one great company. Thanks Perry!
There are literally a dozen or more, including Orchard and Vine, FarmFolk CityFolk, Cottage Magazine etc., but I’ll leave it at this for now.
