Tell your tales!
Learn how to write picture books for children aged 2–6. Illustrated books are a great way to tell a simple story and are often how children learn how to read. Discover how to create a viable plot and endearing characters that engage readers. You will learn the importance of dialogue, and saying more with less.
Several past students of this course have gone on to create gorgeous illustrated books. Some hire illustrators, while other like to work with water colours, pastels, pencil crayon, acrylic and other mediums to create their illustrations. Some use photographs and others use pen and ink drawings.
Attendees will learn the basic outline of a children’s story book, the message, the plot and character development for young readers, as well as how to illustrate or find illustrators.
Three classes of two hours apiece, one week apart to ensure you have time to do your assignments. Once you have completed this course you should be well on your way to creating picture books for young children.
