For others, the goal is to be published and/or win contests and make some money off their work. In other words, writing is their business, not their hobby. When you are serious about getting your work out there and monetizing your writing skills, this is the course for you.
Two Wednesday nights will give you the basics on how to operate your writing business.
Learn what you can write off and what you can’t. We’ll discuss GST #s, Canadian and US taxes, gifts, office supplies and equipment, even your transportation.
Attendees get handy Excel spread sheets to remind them what they can and can not deduct and how to price your book. While this course was originally designed for self-publishers, even if you have a publisher or agent, you need to treat your writing as a business.
It’s not glamorous, or even fun for most; however, treating your writing as a business has more benefits than you may realize.
