Students will get the tools they need to create, edit, and proof their own work. By the end of this course students should at least one short story of 1000 to 1500 words, suitable for contest entry. Blog, Web & Newsletter Writing – ONLINE

Writing for the internet/computer screen is far different than writing for print. Learn why we don’t see errors on a screen, how to grab someone’s attention, keep it and make them want to stay and read more. Learn the psychology behind a well-balanced page and the 10 + 10 process of discovering your marketing/sales words and their corresponding emotional trigger words. Learn how to identify your demographic market and write directly to them. You only have a few seconds to make an impression that should last a lifetime.

Wed 6:30pm – 8:00pm
10 max in class

Creative Writing – ONLINE

Introduce yourself to many creative writing forms and discover where your true talents as an author are. Try your hand at fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, through a stimulating series of assignments and exercises. Discover the types of creative writing that are being published and winning awards.  Similar to Fabulous Fiction (as taught at UVic )but with more variety on types of fiction to try your hand at and different assignments.

Online – 8 classes
October 13 – December 1
Wed 6:30pm – 8:29pm
10 max in class

I’m looking forward to meeting new students and reconnecting with ones I know.  See you in the fall of 2021!

If you prefer something more personal than a group writing class, I also offer one-on-one coaching to hep you get your work completed.
