Self-Publishing
Starting April 9, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm is Self-Publishing (ASWL 119)
There are always changes in the self-publishing industry and Darcy has the information you need to keep on top of what you need to do to have a great self-published book that sells. Learn to navigate the world of self-publishing. how the book publishing industry has changed, where the money goes, how to organize your book, where to publish, who to use for help (editors, illustrators, proofreaders) and why you need an online presence. Course handouts will include budgeting and pricing, with information on how to market your book.
Navigating the Novel
Starting April 11, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm is Navigating the Novel (ASWL 115)
If you want to write a novel but are unsure of how to pull it all together, this course will guide you through everything you need to know to complete your first draft. Discover how to: create plausible plots and subplots; build charming, compelling characters; and keep the reader interested with tension, conflict and curiosity. We’ll also focus on finding assistance from editors, proofreaders and graphic designers, and how to snag an agent/publisher or to self-publish.
Classes are interactive with take-home assignments. Group participation is encouraged.
Writers’ Bootcamp
The College of Rockies will be hosting an in person weekend bootcamp for those who wish to dive in deep. More info to come soon. Most likely the last weekend in May 2024
